UFAW Early Career Animal Welfare Researcher of the Year Award (formerly Young Animal Welfare Scientist)

Background

The UFAW Early Career Animal Welfare Researcher of the Year Award (formerly Young Animal Welfare Scientist) is a prize that recognises the achievements of young scientists who have made significant contributions to improving the welfare of animals.

The UFAW Early Career Animal Welfare Researcher of the Year Award is open to students who are currently studying for a doctoral degree and to individuals who are within six years of the end of their PhD work. Candidates may be based in the UK or elsewhere.

The winner of this award will receive a £1000 cheque and will be presented with a framed award certificate.

Nomination procedure

Nominations may be made on behalf of an individual or a candidate may nominate themselves. Nominees must be aware that they are being nominated for the award.

Two letters from well-established scientists in support of the nominated candidate should be included when submitting your nomination and the names of those providing these letters given in the nomination form. Please also include an up to date copy of the nominated candidate’s curriculum vitae.

Nominations will be judged by a UFAW Panel following the closing date and the winning candidate will be notified. 

An electronic copy of the nomination form, two letters of support, and nominee’s CV, should also be sent as an email attachment to grants@ufaw.org.uk by the closing date.
